8 Vintage Fostoria CHRISTIANA Crystal Wine / Water Glasses UNUSED. Ok, so if it's held that vintage items can not be, by definition "new, " here's the exception that proves the rule: these gorgeous glasses have plainly never been used, all with their original paper stickers on the foot, a couple even with little factory lot numbers that came off in the wash.
And I wouldn't exactly say they are haunted, but there's a dear little old lady ghost here who wants me to tell you - a little indignantly - these beautiful glasses are not just trash! And indeed they are not. They have a wonderful, delicate cut with circular motifs, round lenses and tiny leaves cut in multiple directions so they absolutely glitter in the light.The cut is subtle, almost minimalistic, yet is skillfully designed to have some of the most sparkle of any I've seen. The tall stem is Classical columnar, four sided, and is comfortable and easy to hold. Exceptionally bright and clear crystal; they ring like bells when tapped, a sign of quality. The pattern ran from 1942 to 1969.
These are the water glass size for the pattern, but they are not oversize; they would be absolutely fine as wine glasses. In outstanding vintage condition, no chips or cracks, original paper stickers still intact.
Clean, hand washed and ready to use or display. I hand wash all my items; in this case to preserve the stickers I immersion washed the bowls and gently went over the stem and foot with windex and a soft cloth.
