Antique early 19th C. Emerald green crystal White Wine Decanter & 2x Glass

An elegant, authentic antique, early 19th century set of emerald green crystal, a. White wine decanter with 2 glasses.

Made between 1800 and 1840 in the western part of Europe, probably in Holland. These 200 year old decanter and glasses are fully handmade.

Blown on the pipe, pulled and hand formed with wooden tools, hand cut and hand polished. They all have a polished-out pontil. Because the glasses are handmade 200 years ago, they never are exactly indentical - height, weight, color, facets can differ slightly. These pieces were initialy meant for serving white wine, the coloring was mainly to hide the liquid had not always cleared. The decanter has it has it's original stopper - from the picture you might think it has a crack, this is not the case, the stopper is not cracked and not restored, but that is the spot where the 2 seperate parts were melted together during the fabrication process. The glasses have 10 facets on the funel shaped cuppa / bowl, the stem has a 2 sturdy knops, to give a good grip while holding it with greasy fingers (in those times one would eat more with their fingers), the plain foot has a polished out pontil, they are clear and not damaged.

Condition : no cracks, no chips, no restoration, after 200 years these pieces have only very slight signs of use. The decanter has some slight stains on the inside (residu) - we did not try to clean it, the edge has a few tiny flee bits. Decanter height: 28,5 cm / ca.
