WE ARE CLOSING OUR STORE!! HUGE 87 This is an amazingly beautiful and detailed, finely constructed, and quite unique wine cabinet and display shelf/etagere. This is a tiered unit with 5 tiers that attach via screws. The tiers graduate in descending size as they go up in keeping with the pagoda design. The base has deeply curved, Ming style, wooden legs with a tessellated marble shelf on top.

The next tier contains a wine rack that will house 15 bottles. The next tier also contains a marble shelf and this tier has a single light at the top to highlight any special display pieces. The upper tier has a wine glass holder mounted on the upper section. This will hold several narrow glasses or fewer, larger pieces of stemware.

Finally, a decorative top attaches to finish the out the cabinet. This section is a molded piece (composite) and has a deeply textured acanthus pattern. The wrought iron has a painted finish in golden brown and darker brown with a tortoise shell pattern.

Each side of each tier is finished in narrow, linear sections of cane. These are graduated so that the sides flare outward. These sections are also trimmed with real rope. They are accented at each corner with a curled wrought iron detail that is topped with a composite acanthus leaf. The marble on each shelf is tessellated (small mosaic squares).

The marble is a deep brown with golden brown and cream veins. The shelves are bordered with wrought iron in a Chinese Meander design. This is a remarkable piece of display furniture with functionality as well. Twelve pictures do not do this piece justice.

The Maitland Smith tag is under the wooden base. Each tier is EXCEPTIONALLY HEAVY and, when assembled, this cabinet weighs over 150 lbs. It is in very nice, vintage condition with only minor evidence of age or use. The very top of the piece may have housed a small finial at one time. It is difficult to tell but the absolute top is a little rough on the finish. However, because this piece is over 7 feet up, it is not noticeable at all. Measures 87 tall (7.25 feet). The widest tier is 27.5 squared. We will take the unit apart so there will be 5 sections. They attach via screws and this is quite easy to do.
