They are elegant and often hand-cut. Red wine glasses are typically larger with a rounder bowl; white wine glasses are smaller to preserve crispness (it is assumed that the set of 6 is for white wine due to its size). Champagne flutes are also fine lead crystal allowing for the "ping" when clinked. The tall, narrow bowls preserve the bubbles and concentrate aroma. In original boxes; champagne flutes never used but have been washed with luke warm water, no soap for the picture.
